Wolfestone Group has been recognized as the Association of Translation Companies’ (ATC) ‘Member of the Month’ for September 2025.
The accolade tells the story of the Group’s journey from a small business to a global family of language service providers, as the company prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year.
Founded in 2006 by entrepreneurs Anna Bastek and Roy Allkin, Wolfestone Group has expanded steadily through a strategy of diversification, innovation, and acquisition. Today, the Group encompasses Wolfestone UK, multimedia accessibility specialists VoiceBox, Robertson Languages International (RLI), transcription specialist TauRho Transcribes, and Texas-based Omni Intercommunications.
Managing Director Alex-Michelle Parr reflected on the milestone in her interview with ATC CEO, Raisa McNab.
Growth Through Strategic Acquisitions
“The business started out very traditionally, focusing on certificates, individual clients and public sector work. By the time I joined in 2015, the company had a real thirst for growth,” explained Alex-Michelle.
That appetite for expansion soon translated into acquisitions: VoiceBox was launched internally to address the growing multimedia market; RLI joined in 2018, bringing translation and training under one roof; and more recently, the Wolfestone Group welcomed both TauRho Transcribes and Omni Intercommunications into the Group.
“We’ve learned that the best acquisitions are those where we inherit strong teams, new and diversified services, as well as client lists. It’s not just about revenue; it’s about people, culture, and long-term fit,” added Alex-Michelle.
From Sales-First to Client-Centric
Alongside acquisitions, Wolfestone Group has reshaped its business model to focus on client relationship management rather than traditional sales.
“The language services industry has been changing rapidly over the past few years, and winning new business has been a challenge. For that reason, we have turned from sales-first to client-focused account management,” says Alex-Michelle.
“It’s about looking at different ways of bringing in clients and being a one-stop localization shop to existing ones and then having really strong account managers to nurture and grow those relationships.”
Looking Ahead: Consultancy and AI
As the industry adapts to rapid changes in AI and language technology, Wolfestone Group is positioning itself at the forefront.
Wolfestone Group already leverages AI offering machine translation and post-editing in combination with human expertise with a focus on efficiency and quality.
“I definitely think the industry will still be growing in five years’ time, but the days of providing transactional translation services will probably be behind most language service companies,” continued Alex-Michelle.
“The real value is in moving towards consultancy—helping clients understand what technology is out there, advising on the best solutions, and helping them reach their global audiences more holistically. It’s definitely not one-size-fits-all.”
Recognition at a Pivotal Moment
With ISO certifications underlining its commitment to quality and security, and a growing portfolio of global clients, Wolfestone Group’s recognition as ATC’s Member of the Month comes at a special moment, with September also being the birth month of Wolfestone.
As the company approaches its 20th anniversary in 2026, its blend of acquisition-led growth, client-focused strategy, and forward-looking innovation sets the stage for the next two decades of success.
