The Potential of Brazil's Business Travel Market

Brazil's Business Travel Market is flying high. According to the Economist, domestic business travel spending has increased by 8.3% a year over the last dozen years. That's not to say that the future has always been rosy.

Brazil faced several challenges in the past concerning air travel. Businessweek dubbed the country an "airline graveyard" because of previous concerns over airplane safety.

For now, most Brazilians prefer to take public transport rather than board a plane. But there is massive potential for growth in Brazil; São Paulo's GDP is larger than Argentina's, and Brazil's GDP is bigger than Britain's.

In fact, total business travel spending is expected to increase by 14.3% in 2013, reaching $34.5 billion.

That's a lot of flights! Especially when you think that the 2016 Olympics will take place in Rio de Janeiro.

Are you an airline-related company? How can the travel industry make the most of this potential?
